NO, but if you are under 18 yrs. old it is strongly recommended. We can issue you a student license that will allow you to drive only during your lessons. Regardless of your age, a permit is still required for you to get your license. For those under 18 yrs. old we recommend getting your permit first since you are required to have an instructor sign your permit to validate it before you are allowed to practice with your parent or guardian.
